IoT Expo Berlin
Internet of Things is everywhere, starts in your pocket, makes your home smarter and handles machine-to-machine (M2M) communication.
The IoT Expo in Berlin showed some big players but also some hidden or upcoming champions. Here some of my impressions:
- Ubuntu, known as userfriendly Linux OS, offers a special light-weight operationg system as a base for IoT applications dedicated for robust, low demanding hardware
- Cozify is offering already a huge number of sensors, actors and devices communication via IT with each other or with a human interactor. The simply to use hub offers a vaste variety of standards like Zigbee, WiFi, Z-Wave. You do not need a dedicated Philips Hue or Osram Lightify Hub anymore.
- Internet of your things, a smart solution for locating your valuable things using bluetooth and the last GPS location, Lupo (see foto on the left). It’s still in a beta phase but promising. I bought two ones and will write about my experiences in a future blog.
- Vodafone will predominantly provide 5G for M2M communication.
I appreciate the upcoming smart world with IoT.
